I know I have to be prepared to read in public from my fiction if I want to reach readers and sell my books, but I’m nervous. I’ve made public appearances before, but not for my fiction and it’s nerve-wracking.
I have to choose a section to read and then practice, which I will do this afternoon and tomorrow. But less obviously but just as important, I have to choose an appropriate wardrobe, and make sure my nails and hair are presentable.
Those are the things a lot of advice-to-writers articles don’t mention 🙂
Our appearance is part of a crime writers series hosted by the Toronto Public Library. We’ll be at the Annette Street Library, 145 Annette Street, Toronto, from 7:00 to 8:30 on Tuesday evening, Oct 15.
Join us if you can.
