I’m reading at the Annette St Library

I know I have to be prepared to read in public from my fiction if I want to reach readers and sell my books, but I’m nervous. I’ve made public appearances before, but not for my fiction and it’s nerve-wracking.

Cover of Death on a Dig by Lois Browne, an archaeological mystery featuring Gwen MaddenI have to choose a section to read and then practice, which I will do this afternoon and tomorrow. But less obviously but just as important, I have to choose an appropriate wardrobe, and make sure my nails and hair are presentable.

Those are the things a lot of advice-to-writers articles don’t mention 🙂

I’ll be reading with Toronto authors Sharon Crawford and Rick Blechta, both of whom have lots of writing experience and lots of books available. I’ll be reading from my mystery novel Death on a Dig.

Our appearance is part of a crime writers series hosted by the Toronto Public Library. We’ll be at the Annette Street Library, 145 Annette Street, Toronto, from 7:00 to 8:30 on Tuesday evening, Oct 15.

Join us if you can.
